The Garden

This quiet, hidden gem of a garden is a real treasure in a very historic part of the City of London and can be found on the north side of the Temple complex, a short distance from Fleet Street. The L-shaped garden, which has been planted with a mix of herbaceous plants, shrubs and trees, runs between Temple Church and the Master's House which was the residence of the Master of the Temple at the Temple Church. The main garden is an elevated plateau, built above 17th-century catacombs to create more burial space when the Temple Church crypts were full.
