Description:
Wildcroft Manor comprises 56 flats built in the 1930s on the three-acre site of the former manor. David Hartley's historic Fireproof House previously stood on the site. An obelisk in his memory stands nearby.
The gardens comprise lawns, mature trees, a formal area with box hedging and a pond with a small fountain. They are constantly evolving but retain their original 1930s layout. This is a traditional garden with many roses and mature shrubs.
Our Grade II-listed gates miraculously survived the WW2 meltdown, reputedly because Queen Mary had admired them when passing by.
It is possible to walk on both Putney Heath and Wimbledon Common from just outside the main gate. The Manor is next door to the Telegraph pub.
