Description:
This 1905 Edwardian garden has retained its original structure, which includes the remnants of a children's garden and a croquet lawn. A distinctive feature is the use of hedges to surround the buildings as well as the garden itself.

There are many mature trees and the woodland feel is further enhanced by areas of wildflower meadow and spring bulbs. These contrast with a formal garden and flowerbeds surrounding the buildings. At the centre of the formal garden and very much a focal point, is an exquisite stone replica triple-tier Eton College fountain.

There has been a house at Sutton Court since 1181. Previous residents include Sir Thomas More, Chaloner Chute and Viscount Fauconberg. The last house – which became a boys' school in 1845 – was demolished at the end of the 19th century, before the construction of the present imposing redbrick and terracotta mansion blocks.
