Twelve acres of gardens and grounds in the heart of Battersea, not normally open to the public. Emanuel is an independent school, founded in 1594. The site in Wandsworth was acquired in 1883.

There is a memorial garden with trees and shrubs to mark the lives of pupils and staff at the school. There is also a fine avenue of trees planted before the First World War, which visitors will see as they walk up the drive.

The school has many famous alumni, including creator of the worldwide web Sir Tim Berners-Lee, TV presenter Michael Aspel, film director Richard Marquand (Star Wars: Return of the Jedi), chef Michel Roux, journalist and author Simon Barnes, playwright N F Simpson, politician Peter Hain and rugby international Tom Smith.
