Walworth Garden was first established in 1987 when local residents set about reclaiming a derelict plot of land in a heavily built-up inner-city corner of Walworth in Southwark.

Thirty years on, the garden is a hub of the community, boasting a learning centre, wildlife pond, food-growing, orchard, apiary, QCF accredited Horticultural Training Centre and the Garden Services Division, which employs locals to create and maintain gardens.

A registered charity and social enterprise, in 2017 the garden gained its sixth consecutive Community Green Flag Award and won an 'Outstanding' certificate in the RHS / Britain in Bloom 'It's Your Neighbourhood' award scheme.
