Description:
There has been a house at Sutton Court since at least 1181 and this year you can explore the history of its garden and its links to the nearby Chiswick House. In the late 17th century Lord Fauconberg laid out a grand garden and park around Sutton Court. Lord Burlington bought the estate in the 18th century to add to his gardens at Chiswick House. Traces of this lost landscape can still be seen today.

The current Sutton Court garden was laid out in 1905 and retains much of its original structure, including the remnants of a children's garden and a croquet lawn. In addition there are many mature trees and the garden's woodland feel is further enhanced by areas of wildflower meadow and spring bulbs. These contrast with a formal garden, at the centre of which is an exquisite stone replica triple-tier Eton College fountain, and beautiful flowerbeds which surround the buildings.
