The Garden

Dating back to 1712, this delightful historic garden belongs to the private residence of the Dean of Southwark Cathedral, located just beside the Globe Theatre. This is a true gem of a secret garden by the riverside.

Secluded and hidden from the bustle of tourists, it is a peaceful haven for wildlife. Planted with mature shrubs, trees and herbaceous plants, the garden is looked after by the gardener from the Cathedral.

Please note access to this small garden is via historic Cardinal Cap Alley which is narrow and visitor numbers may be restricted at certain times.
